Dog access conditions
leashed @ (1 Mar-31 Jul)
Dogs may accompany walks on the permitted open-access land and public routes at Pewsey Downs. On open-access land use a lead no longer than two metres from 1 March to 31 July and at all times around livestock. Respect local closures, excepted private land, wildlife restrictions and route signs; public-right-of-way rules can differ. The NNR designation does not grant access to every parcel. The White Horse Trail passes through the reserve. Parking is on the Alton Barnes–Lockeridge road and is not managed by Natural England; crossing that road is required for much of the reserve. Site staff contact: 07771 944557.
